Respiratory Scientist

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Respiratory Scientist to join The Department of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine administration team.

 The Respiratory and Sleep department, as part of the Medicine and Community Care Division, is responsible for the provision of services within the specialty to patients across The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Services included are;

Respiratory Care Unit Bronchoscopy / EBUS procedures Pleural Ultrasound Service Respiratory Laboratory Sleep Laboratory Homebased Diagnostic Sleep Testing Tier 2 Respiratory Outpatient Clinics MBS Respiratory and Sleep Outpatient Clinics 

 Located at the Royal Melbourne Hospital's city campus, the department is committed to the provision of high quality patient care and maintains an ongoing commitment teaching and quality of service. Also provided is a consultative service for other Units within The Royal Melbourne Hospital and VCCC precinct.

The Respiratory Scientist (Grade 1 or 2) will provide respiratory function testing without direct supervision within the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Medicine at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. In addition to carrying out a high level standard of testing, they will also participate in the maintenance and quality control of equipment and procedures as well as actively participate in projects and research. They must show a commitment to further professional development and willingness to participate in teaching.

About you:

Do you hold the following?

Bachelor of Science OR Bachelor of Applied Science OR Equivalent Post-Graduate qualifications advantageous Certified Respiratory Function Scientist (CRFS) desirable
