TThe Teacher Development Instructional Practice Leader will be a member of the School Improvement Team and an active and visible leader of the College. They will lead and manage the implementation of whole school improvement initiatives related to the School Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan. They will drive improvement through educational leadership within the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes

Key aspects include:

·Promote a culture of Respect, Initiative and Learning.

·Provide positive leadership to promote a shared sense of purpose among staff and the school community in the development and implementation of strategies to improve student learning outcomes.

·Lead, oversee and manage the Professional Development of all staff.

·Work with the Leadership Team to identify the professional learning needs of staff and support them to source and engage with appropriate Professional Learning.

·Work closely with key leaders and staff to ensure that new initiatives are supported with appropriate Professional Development programs.

·Model outstanding classroom practice by providing teaching demonstration lessons and maintaining an open-door policy that allows colleagues to observe lessons at any time.

·Develop processes and protocols for classroom observation and feedback of teacher practice and support teachers to act on this feedback.

·Develop and lead protocols for learning walks, with the aim of fostering conversation about teaching and learning and classroom instruction, in accordance with the College¿s shared vision of high-quality teaching.

·Work closely with the VIT Coordinator to mentor graduate teachers and teachers new to the college, including the provision of ongoing induction workshops.

·Lead coaching practices at the college by guiding other leaders to support, mentor and coach.

·Model exemplary use of student data to inform teaching approaches, including the implementation and analysis of the twice-yearly PIVOT survey.

·Manage and oversee the Professional Development process and assist staff to complete a Professional Development Plan (PDP) based on individual development needs, student learning and school priorities.

·Work closely with the Inclusion leader to build teacher capacity to design and deliver appropriate and inclusive teaching and learning programs that cater for the needs of all students.

·Be a member of the Forward Planning Committee.

·Maintain a close working relationship with Principal Class and Sub School Leaders.

·Model high quality teaching and learning practice and provide leadership and instruction on the College¿s GANAG instructional model and BSEM strategies.

·Actively contribute and support all whole school events by leading and attending.

·Conduct performance reviews and observations.

·Conduct Learning walks.

·Understand and embrace the need for the position description to change and adapt to better align with changes to the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) from year to year.

·Deputise for the Principal Class.

·Undertake other duties as required by the Principal.
