THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform a variety of tasks including carpentry, masonry, HVAC, and plumbing duties. You will repair walls, partitions, and door frames, as well as paint walls, concrete fences, and ceilings. Other duties include installing and repairing concrete sidewalks and curbs; performing roof repairs, welding, and brazing; and fixing and installing various plumbing equipment, such as sinks, toilets, showers, and pipes. You will also perform routine maintenance on building structures and systems. In addition, you will perform ground maintenance to include mowing grass, mulching, and snow removal. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the proper functioning of the buildings and providing a safe and comfortable environment for its occupants.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: This position does not offer telework.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,785.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.


Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid driver‘s license which is not under suspension.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
