Job Summary

The Buildings and Places practice of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, energetic, and talented Graphic Designer in the Arlington, VA office. This position will require the ability to develop a range of graphic outputs to communicate concepts and ideas and the ability to produce reports, presentations, and other deliverables from concept layout to final.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Applies creativity and originality in designing and preparing a range of end products including reports, brochures, presentations, infographics, and other media to support the planning and design profession.

  • Creates and produces creative and sophisticated graphic design artwork and stays abreast of industry trends and concepts that will inform the techniques best suited to produce desired visual effects in conformance with specified quality standards.

  • Generates, converts and/or modifies complex images to communicate desired message to the target audience.

  • Proficient in the use of standard graphics software, including the full suite of Adobe products (InDesign and Illustrator, and Photoshop are mandatory requirements) as well as Microsoft Office Aps.

  • Proficient in creating interactive and/or web-based products and/or modifying traditional products to support web-based platforms.

  • Assists with actively promoting projects through available social media platforms, coordinated with broader AECOM protocols.

  • Understands general concept of costs, process control, quality of product and scheduling.

  • Coordinates across teams to identify appropriate graphic design resources needed to support workload.

  • Ensures that projects are completed with high quality and on schedule.

  • Provides guidance and training to planning and/or other personnel.

  • Contributes to the development of new concepts, graphics standards and templates, and improved processes and workflow systems and has ability to design within client branding specs.

  • Serves as a consultant to departments, groups, and subsidiaries.

  • Can perform well with moderate to limited oversight

  • Under general supervision, performs work that is varied and requires the application of sound professional judgment, using independent analysis on details of work with some evaluation, originality, and ingenuity.

  • Prepares budget estimates and makes estimates of production costs.

  • Experience with making graphic products ADA-compliant is a plus

Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to the nature of this job, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in the use of standard graphics software, including the full suite of Adobe products (InDesign and Illustrator, and Photoshop are mandatory requirements) as well as Microsoft Office Aps.
