Wyomissing Animal Hospital is in search of the next dynamic Veterinary Technician or Equivalent to join our growing practice

The ideal candidate will contribute to the growth of our practice through learning, taking initiative, prioritizing tasks, and working well within our veterinary team. We strive to provide excellent health care to our patients and compassion to our clients, so strong communication skills are needed.

Our team practices schedule flexibility by working a combination weekdays, evenings, and Saturday shifts. We aim to work with our team to build a schedule that works for the individual and meets hospital needs.

Veterinary Technicians perform all duties in accordance with government regulations and hospital policies and procedures. Vet tech license or certification is preferred but not required. If you have the training and experience but don't have your license yet, let's talk

Skills and Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Prepares and maintains exam rooms, patient treatment and surgical & dental areas
• Understands the usage and dosage of commonly used prescription drugs
• Administers SQ, IM and IV injections
• Performs IV catheter placement
• Performs digital radiography
• Performs Phlebotomy
• Performs in-house Idexx laboratory testing or prepares for shipment to our reference lab
• Performs surgery / anesthesia monitoring
• Performs dental cleaning and digital radiography
• Performs emergency procedures as directed by the veterinarian
• Ability to provide client education
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced setting
• Computer skills; experience with Impromed a plus
• Other duties, as assigned
• Ability to maintain your composure in stressful situations
• Safely and gently handle animals
• Stand for long periods of time
• Safely lift at least 50 pounds
