About the Role
As a Gas Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a gas plant. Your duties will include monitoring, adjusting, and controlling the process operations of the gas plant, including equipment performance and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal production. You will troubleshoot potential problems and perform preventative maintenance on the equipment. Familiarity with safety regulations is crucial, and you must be able to make quick decisions when necessary. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, manual dexterity, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities
- Operate Machinery: Monitor and operate gas plant machinery and equipment.
- Safety Checks: Perform safety checks and maintenance on the machinery and equipment.
- Regulation and Monitoring: Monitor and regulate gas production rates and pressures; control the quality of the gas.
- Equipment Adjustment: Check and adjust flow meters, valves, and other plant components.
- Operations Management: Monitor and control plant operations and maintain records.
- Communication: Communicate with other personnel to ensure efficient plant operation.
Skills and Competencies
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills for operation and maintenance of complex machinery.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in monitoring and adjusting equipment.
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding of industrial safety protocols.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in computerized monitoring systems and ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1+ year of Gas Plant experience.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills.
- Team Environment: Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without direct supervision.
- Education: High School Grad or GED; some college or technical training preferred.
- Driver's License: Valid U.S. Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Location: Candidate must live within 60 minutes of the worksite in Cotulla, TX. No housing available.
