Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to be based in Detroit, Michigan.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for initiating and developing construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline leaders
  • Under direct supervision, may complete design assignments of moderate to advanced complexity
  • Familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
  • Proficient in REVIT, Enscape, Photoshop, Lumion, PowerPoint, Word and Excel, Adobe Illustrator.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures
  • Advanced understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents
  • Develops planning and creative design concepts for projects based on client’s needs
  • Analyzes space and quantifies how to effectively use that space by evaluating user's needs
  • Works with clients as well as the internal and external project team to execute the project from concept to execution and completion
  • Ability to work on multiple, fast paced projects and documents
  • May hold pieces of projects or have a significant technical role as a project lead; final authority usually rests with a more senior staff member or manager
  • Will provide technical guidance to less experienced design staff
  • Portfolio submission required

Minimum Requirements
BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in architecture or interior design and 6+ years of related interior design experience in commercial and governmental interior construction projects

Licenses, and/or certifications required: National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), WELL AP and LEED Green Associate

High level of competency in REVIT and Adobe SuiteWhat we offer
