Position Summary:  

This position works in the Warehouse and manages Canteen and Laundry orders, distribution, and other processes to provide products to staff and residents. The incumbent insures that the facility has an adequate level of all items on hand including cleaning supplies and equipment, household supplies, uniforms, office supplies and miscellaneous items necessary for the operation of the entire institution. Incumbent supervises, trains, and assists residents with the goal of compliance with safety standards and role-modeling pro-social behaviors, problem solving, and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities: (may include but is not limited to the following)

Maintains inventory on resident & Officer uniforms, including information on sizes on-hand, on order, damaged, and sizes needed. Responsible for the total laundry production and required to drive a laundry truck. Maintains quality control. Oversees the delivery of linen/clothing. Responsible for the processing and shipping of all wearing apparel. Assigns, reviews, and evaluates work, and communicates in a clear, concise manner. Supervises residents assigned to the laundry to ensure laundry procedures and established schedule is followed. Catalogues, records, accounts for, and inventories all property items purchased by, transferred to and given to the facility. Ensures that an adequate level of all items is on hand including cleaning supplies and equipment, household supplies, office supplies and miscellaneous items necessary for the operation of the entire institution. Initiates the necessary paperwork, which begins the ordering process. Confers with the Procurement Officer II with regard to supplies required, consumption and problems that affect the performance of assigned duties. Ensures stock is dated and rotated. Directly supervises residents and is responsible for custody, control, and discipline of residents. Is responsible for training and providing guidance to residents assigned to canteen/laundry. Answers inmate form 9’s (communication forms). Receives deliveries from vendors including all incoming freight. Logs and checks in all freight and marks property for appropriate departments. Checks packing or delivery slips to ensure items are in compliance with order as far as quantity, condition, quality, and specifications. Assists in other areas as needed to cover staff shortages. Develop and maintain an accurate data collection system. Performs other duties as assigned. Reviewed by General Services Manager periodically and annually.

Qualifications:

Experience : One (1) year experience in storekeeping, including receiving, inspecting, cataloging, and storing goods and maintaining inventory records. Education may be substituted for the required experience as determined relevant by the agency.
