JOB DESCRIPTION

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATIONSHIPS:

Note: all principal responsibilities are for assigned projects and in alignment with Project Engineer and/or Group Lead responsible for the project.

Project Responsibilities

  • Drive completion of the design, engineering and production management deliverables associated with equipment builds at the direction of the Project Engineer to meet Rolligon and customer specifications, quality expectations, performance criteria, testing requirements, and delivery expectations.
  • Determine the types of drawings, system schematics, and packages required to suit the production process and the engineering drawing system.
  • Work to maintain a personal level of productivity to meet manufacturing timelines and review work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to engineering department rules and standards.
  • Drive completion and accuracy of engineering deliverables including but not limited to designs, drawings, sizing spreadsheets, system schematics, component purchasing, software, testing requirements, quality documents and service manuals to be in alignment with manufacturing deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain all information necessary for service and operations manuals in alignment with Rolligon and Customer specifications.
  • Perform component selection based on best fit to system requirements and availability to meet production schedule.
  • Procure components and manage delivery schedules to be in alignment with production schedule. Negotiate with suppliers as needed.
  • Develop or update equipment testing and/or quality inspection documentation as needed at direction of Project Engineer or Group Lead.
  • Support production, testing, and quality efforts of projects assigned.
  • Document all work for future production and reference.
  • Monitor project costs to drive alignment with project budget and specification. Work with management and sales team to ensure accurate representations of both throughout the life of a project.
  • Drive technology development for quality improvement, cost reduction, and/or manufacturing efficiency gains at direction and in partnership with Project Engineer and/or engineering management.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives for customer satisfaction, reliability, issue resolution timing, nonconformance reduction, and/or lead time reduction.
  • Ensure disposition of nonconformance requests (internal and external) in a timely expeditious manner.
  • Perform and/or facilitate engineering analysis required for the project and document work.
  • Engage in troubleshooting, technical support, customer service, and field service after the sale acting as liaison with customer when necessary. Maintain willingness to travel to field locations as necessary for customer support.
  • Work in cooperation with manufacturing groups, acting as liaison between departments when necessary, to drive quality on-time project completion.
  • Work with peers to drive commonality and consistency between projects.

  • Work to ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained that exceeds customer's expectations.
  • Maintain willingness to assist with training added engineering resources in alignment with new hire training protocol.
  • Maintain willingness to adapt, facilitate other duties, or engage in projects across product lines as market demands or organizational needs shift.
  • Work in cooperation with Human Resources and engineering management to accomplish Performance 2.0 goals and other HR initiatives in a timely and effective manner.
  • Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures and programs, including but not limited to the process map, support processes, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain positive company attitude.
Minimum requirements for this position

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and/or equivalent and relevant direct work-related experience

• Strong communication skills are required

• Must have training or actual work experience using CAD and/or SolidWorks

• Must have working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical system design

• Baseline knowledge of standard manufacturing processes and practices
