Midland Basin Overview
ConocoPhillips holds approximately 372,000 total net acres in the Midland Basin, which includes approximately 248,000 unconventional net acres located in the heart of west Texas. The company operates over 2,800 producing wells across Midland, Upton, Andrews, Martin and Glasscock counties.

In 2023, the company operated five drilling rigs on average, including two electric rigs. Net production in 2023 averaged 182 MBOED and 106 operated wells were brought online.

Description
If you are selected as the SCADA Analyst you will be using XSPOC and/or Cygnet to help with field operations with MSO, SCADA Technicians, Production Foreman, and Engineering to obtain well and/or facility alarming and optimization. This may include some of the following events; well alarming and optimization, adding or taking away automation equipment, repairing & trouble shooting automation equipment, working with MSO in alarming optimization/scheduling.

This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Optimizing performance by studying well and/or facilities, alarm strategies, alarm schedules, alarm, and system audits, and working with engineering and operations personnel
  • Recognizing inefficient alarm performance, analyzing problem(s), recommending, and implementing solutions
  • Influencing equipment reliability by minimizing failures through effective designs, operation, and participation in planning meeting
  • Assisting production department as directed by production foreman or supervisor by helping lease operators as required with mechanical problems and/or optimization
  • Working with Automations team in assisting with trouble shooting
  • Attend failure and chemical review meetings
  • Assist engineers with needed data and other XSPOC/Cygnet needs

Basic/Required:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Current/Valid Driver's License
  • 3+ years of experience in oil & gas
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word
  • Willing and able to work overtime occasionally, as needed
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:
  • 5+ years of production operations experience
  • 1+ year of artificial lift experience
  • Experience working with production automation software programs such as XSPOC or Cygnet
  • Basic level of knowledge of high-volume production facility operations
  • Works and thinks methodically under pressure and without supervision. Strives for perfection
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of well optimization theories and techniques
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, team building, and people development skills
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering results while maintaining a safe environment
