Lead Full Stack Developer

Cognizant Digital Engineering is looking to hire a skilled Lead Full Stack Developer with 13 to 16 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Angular JS and Java Full stack development. Experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance domain is a plus. This hybrid role offers flexibility of working both remotely and on-site during day shifts with no travel required.

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Location: San Francisco, CA

*Candidate is required to be in the office 3 days a week*

Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the design and development of full stack applications using Angular JS and Java Full stack technologies.
  2. Oversee the entire software development lifecycle ensuring high-quality code and timely delivery.
  3. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers fostering a collaborative team environment.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements by translating them into technical specifications.
  5. Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications.
  6. Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration practices.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  8. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the development process.
  9. Implement best practices for software development including design patterns, coding standards, and documentation.
  10. Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
  11. Contribute to the architectural decisions and technical roadmap of the project.
  12. Optimize application performance and scalability to meet the growing demands of the business.
  13. Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications:
  1. Demonstrate extensive experience in Angular JS and Java Full stack development.
  2. Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  3. Show proficiency in front-end and back-end development including RESTful APIs and database management.
  4. Have experience with version control systems like Git and continuous integration tools.
  5. Display excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  6. Nice to have experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance domain.
  7. Show a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends.
  8. Demonstrate the ability to work in a hybrid work model balancing remote and on-site work effectively.
  9. Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  10. Have a proactive attitude and the ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
  11. Show a strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and practices.
  12. Possess certifications in relevant technologies or frameworks such as Angular or Java is a plus.
