POSITION: 4th Grade Teacher

SALARY: DOE

REPORTS TO: PSIS Principal

LOCATION: Paschal Sherman Indian School, Omak, WA

Basic Functions: PSIS Teachers are directly responsible for planning and implementing a course of instruction designed to aid each student they are assigned to mee the goals and objectives of the school for their assigned grade level. 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training:

Must possess a current and valid Washington State Teaching Certificate for Kindergarten through 8th Grade. 

Requires a valid WA State Drivers' License, must be eligible for the Tribes' vehicle insurance, and maintain throughout employment.

Requires obtaining a First Aid/CPR Certification within 30 working days and maintain throughout employment. 

Must submit proof of degree/transcripts/certifications and three written letters of reference upon applying.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

Requires knowledge in given subject areas and appropriate instructional theory. 

Requires knowledge and skill in effectively instructing children.

Requires knowledge and skill in utilizing a range of different learning resources and equipment including computers, Ipads, interactive white boards, and the internet.

Requires significant social skills necessary to effectively communicate with staff, students, parents, and the public.

Requires skill in providing for individual differences in students.

Requires ability to develop and implement curriculum.

Requires ability to maintain classroom control.

Requires ability to implement prescribed curriculum and design lesson plans using the state common core methods.

Requires ability to enforce rules and regulations of the school.

Requires ability to maintain appropriate records.

Requires ability to maintain a positive and well disciplined classroom environment.

Requires ability to use formative assessments to increase student growth.

Requires ability to pursue continued professional development.

Requires ability to utilize a variety of different instructional materials.

Requires ability to make daily lesson plans.

Requires ability to provide lesson plans for Substitute Teachers.

Requires ability to make contact with parents as necessary.

Requires ability to develop immediate and long range goals.

Requires ability to participate in curriculum development.

Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality and sign PSIS oath of confidentiality.
