Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to be located in its Arlington, Virginia location.

This position is expected to begin in October 2022.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design of new bridges;

  • Design for bridge rehabilitation projects;

  • Development of bridge maintenance and repair plans;

  • Performing load ratings for bridges;

  • Bridge and tunnel inspection and evaluation;

  • Various tunnel engineering support services;

  • Preparation of construction plans and specifications;

  • Preparation of cost estimates and schedules;

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering

  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registration as an E.I.T.

  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills

  • Flexibility to work on a variety of projects, including highways, bridges and tunnels.

  • Flexibility to occasionally work alternate schedules (nights, weekends and holidays) and short-notice work assignments depending on project needs

  • Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate good problem-solving ability.

  • Good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information in layman’s terms.

  • Masters Degree preferred

  • Previous experience with Internships

  • Software Experience: AutoCad, Microstation, MS Office and Structural Analysis Software experience.
