Job Responsibilities:

Directsthe food service operationatthefacilitylevel,guiding andoverseeingdailyoperationincludingthe

leadershipofsubordinatesupervisor(s)andstaff.

1.Interviews,hires,directs,trains,evaluatestheperformanceof,andwhennecessary,disciplinesand dischargesemployees

a.ManagesdailyHR functionssuchas Kronosandwork schedules,including timeoffrequests andensuringadequatecoveragedaily

b.Clearly communicatesthe goals,objectives,andplans ofthe department tosubordinates.

c.Regularly monitors staffadherence toobjectives and plans,providing constructivefeedbackand notifyingappropriate staff ofsignificantvariances.

d.Ensuresthatassigned subordinate staff receiveproper trainingandmaintainServSafe certification,as applicable,inaccordance withestablishedrequirements and guidelines.

2.Plans,schedules,prioritizesandassignsworktofoodserviceworkers.

3.Managesthedailyoperationofthefoodservicedepartment,actingas aliaison betweenfoodservicesand boththefacility andcentraloffice.

4.Maintains a certificationofFood SafetyManagementthroughServSafeorapprovedagency.

5.Reviewsandcompletespaperworkdaily toensure accuracyandfor all governingagencies,includingDPH, USDA, DOE, DJJ, ACA, etc.

6.Actsas thelead forACApreparation forfood servicerelatedstandards.

7.Keeps the foodserviceoperationpreparedfor compliance auditsbyinternalandexternalauditing agencies.

8.Providescorrective actionplanstoleadershipandshowsfollowthroughon these plansforany areas found noncomplianton any audit.

9.Projects andsubmits supplyneedfortheentirefiscalyear forsmall wares, disposables,chemicals,andfoodservice supplies withrespectto foodservicesbudget

10.Placesweeklyorder ofallrawfoods,consideringcurrentinventory,budget,andfacility population.

11.Places orderforUSDAcommodityfoodsand/or DoDproduce toresponsiblyspendentitlementfunds.

12.Responsible forthereviewofeachdeliveryto ensurequalitycontrol,andrelaysquality issuestothe vendorandcentralofficeleadership.

13.Completes monthlyreportinginJTS ofthedailymealcountforthe month,andofraw foodinventory on hand,includingentitlementprogramfoods.

14.Managesthemaintenance andreplacementoffood service equipment.

15.Reviewsthe kitchen consistentlyforsanitation,safety,andprogram compliance.

16.Provides educationandtraining toallstaffon anongoingandasneededbasistomaintain adequate sanitation,safety,andprogram compliance.

17.Trainsthe foodservicesupervisortoprovidesupervisionofthe foodserviceoperation,includingthe ability

to complete allrequiredpaperworkandmonthendreports

18.Demonstratesexcellentcommunicationskillsbetweensubordinatestaff,peers,andleadership.

20.Ensurescomplianceofthefoodservicedepartmentwithallgoverningbodies’requirementsandstandards, includingACA, USDA, DPH, andDJJ policies andprocedures.

MinimumQualifications:

High schooldiplomaorGEDANDtwoyearsof experienceinthemanagementofafoodserviceoperation, includingresponsibilityforsupervision,inventorydistribution andcontrol,costmanagement, food preparation,andsanitation

OR

Twoyears ofexperienceatthelowerlevelFood SvcSpecSpv(FFT013) orpositionequivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

2.Excellentwrittenandoralcommunicationskills

3.Abilityto motivate stafftoimprovequantity andquality ofworkperformed

6.Experience with theNational SchoolMeal Programs
