Job Description:

Facility and Maintenance Specialist (Umatilla)

The Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) seeks to employ career-oriented candidates and offers employment opportunities in a wide variety of challenging occupations. ODOC’s mission is to promote public safety by holding offenders accountable for their actions and reducing the risk of future criminal behavior.

This position is represented by American Federations of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of: a) general building maintenance; b) carpentry; c) electrical; d) mechanical; e) painting; or f) plastering experience.

A journeyman's license/card in any of the above trades will substitute for this experience.

Your job is to keep things moving You'll spend your time keeping up the building and machines, mastering odd-jobs, and partnering with a skilled team of trades-workers and physical plant staff. Everyday is something new, good luck getting bored

  • Minor repairs and general maintenance of a facility
  • Maintenance of custodial equipment

Working Conditions

Working in a minimum and medium custody adult correctional facility including daily contact with adults in custody (AIC). Working with equipment, cleaning solutions, and tools.
