The liquids-rich Eagle Ford tight oil trend, located in the Western Gulf Coast Basin of South Texas, represents the company's second-most prolific unconventional resource development. ConocoPhillips was one of the first companies into the liquids play, resulting in a low-cost entry into this acreage. In 2009, the company began exploring the development potential of this play and by year-end 2022 held approximately 199,000 net leasehold and mineral acres, primarily in DeWitt, Karnes, and Live Oak counties.

During 2022, 153 operated wells were brought online, bringing total wells online at year-end to more than 1,700. Net production in 2022 averaged 220 MBOED.

Description

If you are selected as the Measurement Technician, you will support the Eagle Ford Operations and Maintenance Group and ensure that contract obligations and lease agreements are aligned with ConocoPhillips Measurement Policies and Procedures.
Job Description
Responsibilities may include:
  • Scheduling of meter testing in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Calibrating and starting-up of Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) Units and Allocation Meters
  • Inspecting the primary element and natural gas samplings
  • Witnessing 3rd party meter tests
  • Executing preventative maintenance programs including defect elimination process
  • Working with key support groups and customers to ensure goal alignment with Asset & Operating Integrity (A&OI) program & Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements
  • Championing the use of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) tools, ensuring that the appropriate technical resources have been assigned to address root causes
  • Driving continuous improvement by developing new philosophies and maintenance tactics
  • Managing job assignments for contractors
  • Maintaining a close link on the planning and scheduling function driving strict discipline in observation of the various work schedules
  • Working with Operations to ensure proper prioritization of work
  • Managing Change/Risk assessment responsibilities
  • Leading the maintenance and reliability efforts within the asset to improve equipment reliability while focusing on the management of field maintenance activities
  • Leading and participating in incident investigations when needed
  • Driving contractor safety through HSE Management System & Contractor management, safety orientations and management reviews with vendors
  • Establishing procedures and guidelines and ensuring that all work activities are performed according to the established procedures, guidelines, and schedules
  • Identifying requirements to maintain appropriate skills for company and contract personnel
  • Documenting emissions control
  • Witnessing oil and gas meter tests and/or calibrating oil and gas meters
  • Ability and knowledge to run more than one crew

Basic/Required:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Current/valid driver's license
  • 3+ years of experience with preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of oil and gas operations to include production, Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E), and measurement
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:
  • 3+ years of experience in the calibration/proving of oil and gas meters
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word
  • Intermediate proficiency with programs such as SAP-PM, and Testit
  • Ability to collect accurate and meaningful data and extract trends and useful information to help improve operations
  • Strong technical/functional expertise
  • Transmits information so it is received and understood in the way it was intended
  • Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
