Job Summary
AECOM has an opening for a Environmental Scientist in our Chicago, IL office. The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM Remediation Specialists across the US and will have the resources of more than 3,500 regional staff available to assist in project delivery. Our Chicago office offers a variety of environmental assessment, investigation, and survey services to Federal, State, and local government agencies; Fortune 500 corporations; and many manufacturing and commercial clients. We are looking for an individual with a broad range of field experience and specific experience completing field visits and reporting for Stormwater Pollution

Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, and Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments (ESA). Candidate should be interested in managing and executing SWPPP, SPCC, and Phase 1 ESA projects. Candidate will also have the opportunity to participate and manage other projects including Site Investigation and Remediation projects.Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Planning, Engineering or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience and or equivalent of experience and or education.Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated project or task management experience.
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully engage with diverse teams and successfully manage/deliver project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation, and demonstrated ability to complete and coordinate the preparation of high quality work products in a team environment.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and annual updates.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, or Microsoft Access or SQL is a plus.
  • Sponsorship for this position will not be provided.
