Summary

The Exhibit Specialist is responsible for planning, evaluating, initiating, administering, managing, and performing work on preservation projects undertaken by Historic Preservation Training Center.

Duties

The Major Duties of the Exhibit Specialist include, but are not limited to the following: With close guidance assists in research, investigates, evaluates, and records data pertaining to historic structures for the purpose of determining physical condition, construction methods and evolution, and architectural period and style. Assists higher level Exhibits Specialists with assignments gathering data on simple historic structures and assembling it into reports, treatment alternatives, and/or repair construction drawings, specifications, and other contract documents. Assists in the preparation of project scopes of work for small restoration/preservation projects. Assists with the interpretation of small preservation project scopes of work into tasks for asigned preservation project crews. Participates with highly skilled preservation trades people in the use of special tools and techniques to carry out preservation project tasks.
