About the Position: Summary:

Role

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing services including direct patient care, care management, and provider support.

Preferences: 
-Bilingual Spanish Preferred
-Experience working in primary care.
-Familiar with FQHC operations preferred.
-Experience with NextGen preferred. 

Major Duties, Responsibilities

Provides nursing services including direct patient care, care management, and provider support. Supports back-office operations by optimizing clinic workflow. Serves as a resource for other back-office staff in the areas of patient consultation and inquiry using nursing knowledge and expertise.  Oversees equipment and supply inventory and ordering. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Registered Nurse from an accredited school.
 
Experience: 
A minimum of four (4) years of relevant nursing experience.

Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Must be Licensed Registered Nurse from an accredited school.
Must possess current Arizona Nursing license.
Must possess current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Professionals.

Back-office primary care operations. Electronic medical records. Quality improvement process and its implementation in the clinic setting. Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition. Clerical office practices and procedures. Research techniques and report writing. Current Microsoft Office software. Filing and recordkeeping.
Skill in:
Strategic Leadership Personnel training. Demonstrating care, concern, and courtesy when dealing with people. Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and communicating orally in a face-to-face setting and by telephone with public and employees. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public. Organization and adherence to detail.
Ability to:
Function effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision within established guidelines while demonstrating appropriate professional judgment and identify potential problems. Prioritize work, meet deadlines, efficiently manage time. Understand health care concepts pertinent to work requirements and provide accurate and thorough teaching to patients as directed by the health care provider. Recognize and report a patient's health status accurately. Maintain public trust by honoring patient confidentiality at all times. Instruct and direct employees. Abide by all Community Health Center of Yavapai (CHCY) Policies and HIPAA guidelines. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public. Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department. Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties. Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always. Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
Work Environment:
The work environment is associated with a medical office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to blood and body fluids and occasionally may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
