The Georgia Department of Labor is accepting applications to fill multiple Compliance Investigator 1 positions in the Benefits Payment Control Unit at the Georgia Department of Labor Headquarters in downtown Atlanta, GA. 

These are twelve-month time-limited positions with benefits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general supervision, reviews Unemployment Insurance Identify Verification and ID Theft cases. Gathers pertinent documents and evidence to support findings.  Assists in preparing cases for overpayment establishment, civil action and criminal prosecution. Processes required department, state and federal reports per established guidelines. Provides customer service to internal and external customers regarding identification verification requirements and other areas of assignment. Responses to customer emails, faxes, phone calls and other correspondence  Performs other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college of university Two years of professional investigative experience with a state, federal or local governmental entity Four or more years' experience processing and/or adjudicating claims/rendering overpayment determinations Ability to use proper and effective investigative and interview techniques Experience generating and managing high volume, detailed work, requiring critical thinking skills Ability to use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation in reports Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite
