Duties

Collect, interpret, and analyze data (i.e., vegetation, watershed, rangeland, invasive plants, conditions, and natural processes) to evaluate implemented management practices and prescriptions. Implements natural resource plans by developing land improvement projects using specialized methods and techniques. Assist in conservation and protection of listed and proposed threatened/endangered plant species in coordination with other programs. Assist in preparing biological assessments and consultations for proposed projects and any other activity on public land, consistent with laws, Bureau regulations, and policies. Provides technical direction to other specialists, complete monitoring, submit technical reports, and perform complex analysis using specialized techniques. Leads or serves on an inter-disciplinary team of specialists to draft and review environmental analysis of potential impacts to natural resources by proposed land uses to ensure they are consistent with policy. Participates in the preparation and review of land use plans and environmental compliance documents. Independently plans and carries out intensive investigations into complex natural resource concerns.
