SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Technical Writer works closely with other members of the Training Development Team to develop training materials and knowledge base systems. This position works collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to document policy, procedures, services, and concepts in a clear and concise manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Researches policy documents to gather information about programs, procedures, and practicesCreates Frequently Asked Questions to ensure information is easily accessible and understandableWrites and edits technical documents, including reference manuals, user guides, instructions, etc.Works with SMEs to ensure accuracy of contentEdits and proofreads documentation for grammatical/syntactical/usage errors, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to standardsContinuously reviews and updates documentation to reflect changes in policyWorks with stakeholders to understand user feedback and incorporate improvements to documentationIdentifies and makes recommendations for process and tool improvementsRegular and timely attendanceOther duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communication or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Solid Microsoft Office suite experience (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of review tools including track changes and comments featuresIntermediate to excellent skill in cloud-based team collaboration software and systems, specifically Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Teams

 REQUIRED SKILLS

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills (written and verbal)Highly proficient in grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and active/passive voiceAbility to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple projects simultaneously without compromising qualityExcellent collaborative and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levelsAbility to learn concepts quickly and translate them into simple explanationsAbility to present complex data in clear, concise textProven capability to work as a team member, as well as independentlySkilled in operating computers and office equipmentMeticulous attention to detail
