Casual Scientist role in core based Pathology laboratory in Echuca. 7 day a week roster including on call and weekend shifts.

About the role

In this role you would be required to perform a wide range of Haematology and Biochemistry testing by automated and manual methods according to documented procedures. Perform essential transfusion testing incuding blood grouping and antibody investigations and the preparation of blood and blood products. Participation in solo shifts, weekends and on call as required. Comply with the Pathology Quality Management System. Interpretation, reporting and issue of laboratory results in accordance with documented procedures.

About you

We are looking for someone who uses their initiative and possess the theoretical and practical knowledge to perform basic laboratory techniques with a high degree of competence. Relevant experience in a Pathology Laboratory and good communication skills is essential. The ability to work independently and part of a team environment as well as the ability to prioritise and cope with stressful and emergency situations is required.

A Bachelor of Applied Science (MLS) or equivalent
