JOB DUTIES:

As a Workforce Consultant, you will:

Work with clients to collaboratively develop and implement a job search plan to identify services and supports needed to choose, obtain, and maintain employment. Provide outcome-based, client specific services to diverse populations and cultures, with skill levels ranging from seasoned professionals to those new to the workforce to include veterans, persons with disabilities, justice involved, those with little formal education, homeless, and the senior population. Develop and strengthen clients’ job search skills such as building professional application materials and interviewing techniques and breaking down personal barriers to gainful employment. Provide customized business services for employers to address their needs in the area of worker recruitment & retention, employment law, economic trends and workforce solutions including human resource management practices. Build and maintain relationships with businesses, education, economic development and other community partners. Inspect facilities for compliance related to worker housing.

Skilled in using of a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, email, internet applications and program databases. Active listening – giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting. Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, business partners and co-workers. Skilled in providing positive, outstanding customer service. Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment. Skilled in solving problems and providing positive solutions. Knowledge of presentation and training techniques. Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to fellow team members. Skilled in coaching individuals toward their goals. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including:

Bachelor’s degree in a field such as personnel or business administration, counseling, education, or related field.
And One year of directly related experience assessing and advising others in a variety of personal and professional issues such as employment, personnel, counseling, finance, education, human services or social work, or related area.

OR

5 years of directly relevant experience.

OR

Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.

Preferred experience: Case management, client assessment, business services, networking (including utilization of community resources), and labor market information, including job development and placement skills.
