Job Description (Please follow all instructions carefully)

Summary

This position is a mixed work schedule career-seasonal appointment. This is a permanent position and includes the same benefits as a career appointment but does not provide work on a year-round basis. The selectee will work full-time (40 hours per week) for approximately 9 months (late May thru mid-January), be placed in non-pay status (February) for approximately 1 month, and work part-time (28 hours per week) for approximately 3 months (March thru mid-May).

Duties

The major duties of the Laborer (MVO) WG-3502-04 position include, but are not limited to, the following: Occasionally performs reoccurring, minor building maintenance. Performs custodial duties and maintains sanitary conditions for all occupied site buildings and public use areas. Operates pickup trucks up to 1 ton to transport materials, equipment, cleaning supplies, and museum objects to various site buildings. Will on occasion assist in ranching activities such as feeding livestock and cleaning livestock stalls. Learn and use proper museum handing and cleaning techniques to complete scheduled museum exhibit and storage housekeeping duties.

U.S. Citizenship required. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. You may be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime. If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period. Applicants must be at least 18 years old at time of application.
