Air Quality Scientist

Job Summary
The Air Quality Engineering and Studies Department at AECOM in Chelmsford, Massachusetts is considering candidates for the entry-level position of air quality dispersion modeler.

This Department is primarily responsible for supporting industry with air quality compliance issues and providing technical assistance in securing air permits to construct and operate sources of air pollution. The business is driven by the Federal Clean Air Act and implementing regulations at the federal and state levels. Responsibilities include air quality dispersion modeling using various Gaussian-and Lagrangian-based models, processing of geophysical and meteorological data for input to dispersion models and interpreting modeling results.

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and /or education.
• US Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications

• B.S. degree in meteorology/atmospheric science or environmental engineering/science.
• The candidate should also have excellent oral and written communications skills and be a self-starter.
• Experience with GIS and Lakes Environmental software packages and FORTRAN programming is a plus.
• Advanced Degree in meteorology/atmospheric science or environmental engineering/science.
