Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for the Department of History

College of Social Science

Position Overview:

The Department of History is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants to assist a faculty member in administering and maintaining their class.

The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign Instructional Student Assistant to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made.

Anticipated Appointment Dates : This position is opened until filled. If you have applied and no other positions are available, you will be notified.

Fall 2024: August 19, 2024 - December 23, 2024

Spring 2025: January 15, 2025 - May 23, 2025

Hours : 0-20 hours per week.

Job Duties  may include the following, but will be dependent upon the specific course to which the instructional student assistant will be assigned, as well as upon the specific needs of the faculty member in charge of the course:

Attend course lectures Preparation Canvas management Proctor examinations Perform individual and/or group tracking Provide research assistance Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum GPA 3.0 Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background, Ability and willingness to work with computers Communication skills appropriate to the instructional setting

Preferred Qualifications :

Expertise in a closely related discipline
