JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply Engineering Knowledge & General Engineering Principles in support of developing and integration of instrumentation and controls into Brandt Products Equipment and Services
  • Development of automation and control systems and processes, to include instrumentation specification, system architecture structure, control narratives and PID loops
  • Apply Instrumentation and Control Engineering Knowledge in support for system integration with Variable Frequency Drives, Single Board Computer and Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Continued improvements in data collection, processing and equipment control logic, to include specification and integration for process sensors, transmitters, actuators and analytical instruments for application related to Brandt Products Equipment and Services
  • Assist with larger Engineering projects working as part of a team
  • Keep abreast of engineering developments, trends, equipment and processes and advise Line Manager if these could be applied to improve current work practices, equipment, products etc.
  • Produce, check and approve engineering documentation
  • Work in a methodical, structured and safe manner within guidelines as set by NOV values/ethics
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is priority
  • Be respectful of others internally and externally
  • Work towards the vision and strategy of Engineering group.
  • Ensure customer care is at the foremost position
  • Responsible for self-workload to plan and schedule ensuring all deadlines are achieved
  • Domestic and Global travel as and when required
  • Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
  • Responsible for delivery on time to agreed delivery dates

Quality Assurance:

  • Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions
  • Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area
Training:

  • Participate in training where required
Health, Safety and Environment:

  • Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction
  • To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative
  • Ensure all accidents and/or incidents are reported in a timely manner (within 12 hours) to the Safety Department and Line Management
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Qualifications:

  • Degree Level or similar in Controls / Instrumentation, Software, Electrical or related Engineering - Essential
  • Tertiary education Controls or related Engineering - Desirable
Experience:

  • Experience in an Engineering Environment
  • Ability to create and track individual metrics
Skills, training or special knowledge:

  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Access, Project, Outlook, Programmable Logic Controller or Single Board Computer program development environment package)
  • Knowledge of industry standards
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Location standards, to include explosive gas, vapor and mist - Desirable
