Alpha Veterinary Services is seeking a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team
At Alpha Veterinary Services, otherwise known as AVS, we have worked hard to be the very best. We provide individual & personal attention to all of our clients and their companion pets' at every visit.
Our technicians work closely with the veterinarians to ensure excellent patient care. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a strong work ethic. Individuals must be able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do:
- Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and IV catheter placement
- Obtain laboratory sample collection, process, and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
- Take digital radiographs and digital dental x-rays
- Surgery Assistance includes experience in handling anesthesia and patient monitoring.
- Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
- Ability to effectively communicate and educate clients
- Use of computerized medical records and invoicing
- Areas of small animal practice include wellness, comprehensive, and surgery appointments.
Qualifications:
- State of West Virginia Technician License REQUIRED
- 2+ year experience in small animal practice
- Motivated to maintain our standards of excellent client services and high-quality patient care
- Team player with exceptional client service and communication skills, attention to detail with a positive and compassionate attitude
