Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
SBSE Campus Collection Operations

The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. Reviews incoming cases for needed documents, statutes, development of issues and completeness of supporting documents, and transcripts. Obtains and/or develops the necessary documents and information to resolve complex issues and close cases when possible. Reviews, analyzes and evaluates information provided by the customer regarding the problem or issue. If the taxpayer provides no information or insufficient information, elicits additional information that may be necessary to clarify/ resolve the problem. Contacts Appeals, Taxpayer Advocate, Technical Support W & I or SBSE Operating Divisions, and other agency offices for verification/clarification/action as necessary. Elicits sensitive personal financial information, . income and expenses. Analyzes the data given along with the information that is currently available to the IRS. Based on the analysis of the financial condition of the taxpayer, makes a determination of appropriate case action. Completes contacts/interviews with a wide range of individuals who have varying degrees of understanding or with third party representatives, ., CPAs, practitioners, attorneys, who possess a professional understanding. Presents taxpayers and/or representatives with available options and courses of action, explains consequences of actions taken. Communicates consequences of non-compliance to taxpayers as necessary. Presents the government's position, explains proposed settlements and expeditiously secures the taxpayer's consent. Explains rights of resolution in regard to Appeals Procedures and explains course of action if case is forwarded to Appeals.
