JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist location manager on all facets of operations management. Activities include inspection, service, diagnostics/troubleshooting, repair, rebuild of components and assemblies to return equipment to full serviceable state of operation. The ability to size equipment needed for customer jobs and help problem solve issues that occur. Perform all computer work in the ERP system associated with generator repair, service, quoting, employee time management, and safety requirements. Works with the department heads for clear communications for day to day operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist location manager on all facets of operations management.
  • Activities include inspection, service, diagnostics/troubleshooting, repair, rebuild of components and assemblies to return equipment to full serviceable state of operation.
  • The ability to size equipment needed for customer jobs and help problem solve issues that occur. Perform all computer work in the ERP system associated with generator repair, service, quoting, employee time management, and safety requirements.
  • Works with the department heads for clear communication for day to operations and objectives.
  • Be available to answer calls that require problem solving after hours when needed.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Great communication skills are a must.
  • Meet with customers on site, or at the office when requested. Demonstrate all test functions on our equipment with customers when required.
  • Expert knowledge of theory, principles and repairs relating to internal combustion engines, electrical circuits, and mechanical mechanisms applying to the repair of power generation equipment
  • Advance skills in determining the overall mechanical condition of generators and equipment, diagnose component malfunction and initiates repair actions. Systematically analyzes malfunction by visual and auditory examination or the use of test equipment.
  • Performs operational inspection and ensures equipment is properly serviced prior to renting.
  • Skilled in the use of technical manuals, wiring schematics, test equipment and well versed in the use of computers and all Cummins based diagnostic programs.
  • Adheres to all established safety policies and standards.
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in the use of hand and power tools, shop equipment to include forklifts, overhead lift cranes, welders, cutting and grinding tools and follows proper procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Has the knowledge to teach and lead skill level 1-4 technicians in the fundamentals of generator operations.
  • Supervises workflow for technicians.
  • Assist all technicians with troubleshooting and maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Confirm parts needed for equipment and works with parts clerk to place items on order.
  • Maintains repairs orders for broke equipment and keeps the Depot Manager informed of all equipment issues.
  • Trouble shoot equipment issues with customers over the phone.
  • Lines up all service jobs for customers and processes all billable and nonbillable tickets. After hour rental calls that require technical assistance.
