Channel Ship Services Limited (CSS) is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Offshore Geophysicists to join our team for some work in the US (and so B1/B2 OR B1-OCS visa required unless you're a US or Canadian National). This work is for the 25th September.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting offshore projects, conducting geophysical surveys and analyses. Your role as an Offshore Geophysicist will involve utilizing state-of-the-art technology and equipment to collect and interpret data that informs the exploration and production of offshore resources.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute offshore geophysical surveys using specialized equipment and technology.
  • Collect and analyze geophysical data to determine subsurface conditions and identify potential hydrocarbon resources.
  • Interpret and integrate geophysical data with other geological and geotechnical information to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing survey results and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, engineers, and project managers, to support offshore exploration and production activities.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and best practices in geophysics.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in geophysics, geology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Offshore Geophysicist, preferably in the maritime industry.
  • Proficiency in geophysical survey techniques, equipment, and software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with interpretation of various geophysical data types, including seismic, gravity, and magnetic data.
  • Ability to integrate and correlate geophysical data with other geological and geotechnical information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work in remote locations and offshore environments.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
  • Offshore certification and training (e.g., BOSIET) preferred.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.
