A day in the life:

  • Start your day by meticulously reviewing motor carrier information to ensure compliance with registration and licensing requirements. You’ll review documents to determine if all necessary criteria have been met, ensuring accuracy and completeness in every transaction.

  • Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers via phone calls and in writing regarding regulatory compliance and inquiries, concerns, and procedures.

  • Calculate and collect appropriate fees and taxes for various transactions. Your attention to detail ensures that all financial transactions are accurate and in accordance with regulatory standards.

  • Explain and apply a myriad of laws, rules, policies, procedures, and regulations. Your ability to navigate and interpret complex legal frameworks ensures that all actions taken are in full compliance with established guidelines.

  • Accurately inputting motor carrier applications and forms into the system. As you assist the customer in setting up Oregon IRP and IFTA accounts, you’ll patiently explain the intricacies of forms and transaction requirements, providing clarity and guidance every step of the way.

  • Embrace opportunities for professional development through cross-training activities, expanding your skill set and knowledge base. As a reliable and collaborative team player, you’ll serve as a valuable back-up for counter agents and actively collaborate with other departments on various projects as needed, fostering a culture of teamwork and cooperation.

  • Conduct research in response to inquiries from internal and external customers and make independent decisions that align with the respective law, rule, regulation, requirement, policy, or procedure.

  • Work is performed in a typical office environment with standard working hours of Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum qualifications:

Two years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in-person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying laws, rules, regulations/procedures.

Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
