Electrical Engineering II

AECOM's Florida offices are hiring an Electrical Engineer to work on various new and renovation designs of high-performance buildings and sites within multiple sectors including governmental, federal, mission critical, justice, municipal, transportation, parks/recreation, commercial, industrial, retail, office, call/data center, laboratory, hospitality, entertainment, religious, auto dealership, warehouse/distribution, medical, educational (K-12 and higher education, dormitory), residential (single- and multi-family) projects.
Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, technical specifications, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, cost estimates, detailed analyses, and other materials suitable for procurement and building construction purposes
Develop electrical design concepts with architects, engineers, and owners
Design of electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, communications systems in buildings
Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards
Travel to construction sites to conduct electrical inspections

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or a related field from an accredited program
Minimum of 2 years of experience in buildings and facilities engineering with specific experience in the design of lighting design and power distribution or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Valid Driver’s License
Experience with the design of modifications to low voltage (480 V and below) electrical power systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities including office tenant space, utilities and support facilities - This includes preparation of electrical system load analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, etc.
Experience with the design of lighting and lighting control systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities in accordance with energy code requirements (ASHRE 90.1) including familiarity with lighting calculations, occupancy control, and application of state of the art materials to projects
Familiarity with the National Electric Code
AutoCAD/Revit and/or MicroStation experience, including experience with BIM (Revit or AutoCAD) software as well as experience working on projects that were executed using Revit or a similar 3D BIM Product
Working knowledge of photometric analysis tools (AGi32 or Visual)
Understands overall project constraints including design budget limitations and schedule requirements
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines
Effective written and verbal communication skills
EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) registration
Working knowledge of Electrical system analysis tools (E-TAP or SKM)
Direct experience in Department of Defense, Health Care, and Government facilities
