PROFICIENCY TESTING REQUIREMENT To meet Department of Public Safety Standards & Training (DPSST) requirements, candidates may be required to complete testing through National Testing Network (NTN) at their own expense of $30.00. You will be notified later in the hiring process if you need to take the proficiency testing.

WHAT DOES THIS JOB DO?  The ADULT PAROLE AND PROBATION OFFICER manages felony parole and probation correctional cases. Employees assess the needs of offenders assigned by the courts or Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision to parole or probation; identify services to support the offender with their rehabilitation and readjustment into society; monitor the offender's behavior and compliance with the case plan; investigate and take appropriate action to address supervision violations.

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

Your application will be reviewed to verify that you:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work or related fields; AND

  • two years of experience working in a Criminal Justice setting; OR two years in a social service, counseling or case management program with primary responsibility for guiding or counseling individuals in the solution of occupational, educational, personal or social problems; OR

  • Successful completion of two academic years (90 quarter hours or the equivalent) from an accredited college or university in any of the above fields*; AND

  • three years of experience working in a Criminal Justice setting; OR three years in a social service, counseling or case management program with primary responsibility for guiding or counseling individuals in the solution of occupational, educational, personal or social problems.
