Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer for our Sacramento area.

The Commissioning Engineer will support new construction building commissioning and existing building retro-commissioning projects. The qualified candidate will have proven past performance in engineering design and construction in the healthcare, research, mission critical, Government, Higher Education, and the K-12 market. The candidate will interface daily with both design and construction professionals as well as Clients, trade contractors, and operations and maintenance staff. Position requires 50% onsite presence during the installation, startup, and functional testing of building systems, controls and enclosure elements.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Possess project specific knowledge of the program’s commissioning requirements as defined in the project specifications and commissioning plan.
  • Manages and leads the overall project including technical, financial, and client satisfaction.
  • Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the design phase, construction phase, testing/training phase, warranty phase activities, final commissioning report and personnel under his/her direction.
  • Establishes the scope, work plan and work schedule and ensures this is communicated to the Project staff and Department Managers
  • Ensures that programs are conducted within budget and on schedule.
  • Performs commissioning reviews of construction documents.
  • Attends and actively participates project coordination meetings.
  • Leads field commissioning coordination meetings.
  • Records and distributes commissioning coordination meeting minutes.
  • Reviews shop drawings and equipment submittals.

  • BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
