About the Role:
Were on the hunt for a dynamic Construction Services Department Manager to join the hive on behalf of our clients. In this role you will be responsible for managing the Construction Services Department overseeing fieldwork laboratory services and technicians. You will ensure that testing and reporting meet required specifications and standards while managing staff department profitability and client relations. If youre passionate about managing construction engineering services and have a proven track record in geotechnical engineering or materials testing we want to meet you
Your Mission:
- Manage maintain and monitor the Construction Services Department ensuring that all testing and reporting meet the required specifications and standards.
- Communicate department technical needs with the CSD Operations Manager to ensure the smooth functioning of projects and client requirements.
- Oversee the QC Manager and field staff to ensure daily weekly and monthly project requirements are met.
- Communicate with the CSD Management team to track construction progress testing requirements and future technical needs.
- Directly manage field staff to provide engineering services that meet the technical demands of the project and client.
- Monitor department profitability by improving processes and collaborating with the CSD Operations Manager.
- Maintain and expand professional licensure and knowledge of department software to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Involvement with clients primarily on an engineering or technical basis with responsibility for project site visits and client expectations.

- Construction Services Management: Expertise in overseeing fieldwork lab services and personnel.
- Project Management: Ability to manage technical needs and ensure department profitability.
- Client Relationship Management: Skilled in maintaining client relations and ensuring project requirements are met.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in geotechnical engineering or construction materials testing.
What You Bring:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.
- Experience with Construction Materials Testing and/or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage both field and office operations.
- Valid Florida Drivers License and the ability to work in outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
Skills Required:
- Construction Services: Proficient in managing fieldwork laboratory testing and technical reporting.
- Project Management: Skilled in overseeing project requirements staff management and department profitability.
- Technical Expertise: Experience in construction materials testing and geotechnical engineering.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to manage client relationships and department coordination.
Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License Required.
- ACI Certifications Preferred.
- CTQP Certifications Preferred.
Education:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering Preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds regularly with occasional lifting up to 75 pounds.
