Duties

Duties listed are at the full performance level. Assists with Section 106 cultural resource inventories for a wide variety of projects, including realty, recreation, and range developments under supervision of a higher graded Archaeologist. Assists with coordination with the State Historic Preservation Office on determination of eligibility ratings for pre and post-contact cultural resource sites. Assists with the completion annual report of cultural resource preservation activities in the Field Office. Participates in Tribal consultation meetings with interested Native American Tribes to represent the Field Office. Participates on interdisciplinary teams to evaluate impacts to cultural resources from federal actions, including NEPA compliance. Maintains archaeological site and inventory GIS layers for the Field Office. Uses GPS and GIS to record new archaeological properties to add to the database.
