The ideal candidate for this position will provide leadership, advice, and extensive coordination in handling administrative tasks, projects, and assignments related to the agency in analysis, decision making, and implementation of activities affecting the . Fire Administration. This position serves as the Staff Assistant to the SES position, Directors, and the Office of the Fire Administrator.

What will I do in this position if hired?

This position is in the Office of the FEMA Assistant Administrator, . Fire Administration (USFA), Federal Emergency Management Agency, located in Emmitsburg, Maryland. In this position, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of administrative activities for the FEMA Assistant Administrator and Deputy Assistant Administrator in connection with the functions and activities of the USFA.

Typical assignments include:

Performs staff assistant duties in support of the . Fire Administrator and Deputy Fire Administrator and in some cases, in support of other staff in the Office, by performing general office work. Serves as primary officer for program support, the incumbent is responsible for scheduling, travel, timekeeper duties, planning, management, coordination, and administration of all program support activities within USFA. Provides technical leadership, administrative guidance, and assistance in accomplishing management objectives through the USFA program support staff. Provides authoritative guidance to all USF A administrative and program support staff, and to the respective USF A senior managers on matters of procedures and processes. Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memorandum, and other forms of written communication. Communicates with the supervisor and co-workers in both informal conversations and formal presentations concerning administrative, clerical and other non-technical matters.
