Financial Clerk II, Part-Time, Flexible schedule
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Monitors daily Positive Pay alerts.
· Maintains updated knowledge of the State of Georgia Chart of Accounts.
· Codes accounts receivable and accounts payable to the appropriate line item in the Chart of Accounts.
· Maintains vendor files.
· Uploads payables and invoices to the CPA portal (training provided by CPA).
· Maintains all library insurance such as Worker’s Comp, vehicle, property, and liability insurance
· Advises and consults with the Library Director on the preparation and updating of financial policies and procedures..
· Participates in the development and presentation of the annual budget to the Board of Trustees; attends Library Board meetings; presents reports provided by the CPA
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Knowledge of the principles, practices, and terminology of accounting.
· Knowledge of financial administration including budgeting and reporting.
· Knowledge of modern office terminology, procedures, equipment, and business English.
· Computer skills, including basic competence with Microsoft Excel.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Able to complete continuing education classes as assigned; participates in training provided by GPLS and ACCG (overnight travel required 1-2 times per year).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Education: Associate’s Degree or higher in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
· Experience: recent experience in accounts payable/receivable
· Competence in Microsoft Excel
A COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MAY BE CONSIDERED
Part-time, hourly position, starting between $18-$24 per hour, negotiable, depending on qualifications. Flexible schedule Position is located at our headquarters library in McDonough.
Benefits include generous paid vacation, sick leave, optional medical & dental insurance under State Health Plan, and participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Georgia. Service accrued under TRS is transferable.
