AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to be based in our Akron, Ohio office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.

Job Overview:
The Entry-Level Civil Engineer will support our Remediation both in the field and office. The successful candidate will have a background in civil engineering.

This position is expected to begin June 2023.

Job responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Computer-aided design support for various types of projects

  • Supports report preparation, site reconnaissance, and communications with multi-disciplinary AECOM project team

  • Builds analytic and design skills

  • Knowledge of civil engineering design principles

  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling concept and principles

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer

  • Conducts engineering design and analysis under the supervision of an experienced engineer

  • Creates designs, models, calculations, sketches, diagrams, drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision

  • Understanding and applying regulations to develop standards and theories necessary to carry out project design and permitting work

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid U.S Driver’s License required

  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Willingness to travel, complete field work, and work extended hours, when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) of Civil Engineering experience

  • Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD and/or Civil3D for civil engineering-related projects including stormwater, grading, roadway, and pipe networks

  • Demonstrated experience using HydroCAD

  • Experience in site development and erosion control and stormwater design

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred (not required)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Strong organizational, technical, and communications skills

  • Commitment to working efficiently to complete tasks within allotted schedule constraints

  • Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors

  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects
