The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has a MIECHV Coordinator opening in Topeka. The Maternal, Infant, Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Coordinator will provide planned monthly individual technical assistance calls with assigned MIECHV Local Implementing Agencies (LIA) and responds, as needed, to other technical assistance and information requests about the program. Annually conducts a contractual compliance review for each assigned MIECHV LIA. Develops a written report outlining performance, noting areas not in adherence with contract performance expectations and develops collaborative plans for program improvement. Utilizes program data to inform practice including modifications. Responsible for coordinating technical assistance and coaching needs for assigned contractors as requested or identified.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:  

In collaboration with the MIECHV Program Director and professional development team, develop a continuing education requirement for all home visitors. Provide monitoring and verification of continuing education submissions on a rotating basis to ensure adherence to requirements. Works closely with the Data and CQI Coordinator to evaluate the effectiveness of the program services by analyzing program data and emerging national home visiting research. Advises the MIECHV Program Director on practice modifications necessary for the most effective and efficient home visiting services. Presents findings orally and in writing to policy makers and shares with the broader home visiting field. Collaborates in development of interagency information, referrals, partnerships, and agreements. Continually seeks opportunities to advance own professional development.

Participates in collaborative review, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, criteria, and guidelines for use by local agencies and others regarding home visiting program functions in compliance with state and federal grant guidance/requirements and professional standards. Establishes a system to detect weaknesses and inadequacies in program services and procedures, fiscal and data collection policies, and reporting procedures used by home visiting grantees/contractors. Provides data and analysis with recommendations to inform the public and others about policy, legislative and other matters which impact the health of Kansas mothers, infants and young children, and their families.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Family Studies, Public Health, Education, or related field. Licensing & Certification: Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Family Studies, Public Health, Education, or related field. Two years’ experience in workforce development including developing professional development opportunities and training materials. Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in data analysis or policy development. Experience in public administration or programmatic work at the state level. Two years’ experience in public health, early education or maternal-child health service delivery. Proofreading, editing, attention to detail. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
