Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Dietetic Technician with the Food Service Department. This is a full-time position with State benefits and will work 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE BACKGROUND CHECK AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT. 

Job Description

This position will assist Dieticians as they serve adults who have Mental Health issues. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Inform and teach individuals about their food and medications Monitor the individuals’ food tray line Conduct food demonstrations to individuals Assist in the provision of nutritional programs May plan and produce meals based on guidelines Teach individuals principles of food and nutrition Observe individuals’ food intake and report progress and dietary problems Obtain and evaluate dietary histories of individuals to plan nutritional programs Plan menus and diets or guide individuals and families based upon nutritional needs and established guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to State minimum qualifications, preference will be given to those applicants who possess some or all of the following skills/experience:

Associate’s degree in a dietetic technician, dietetic assistant, or similar program from an accredited college or university Experience in conducting training/instruction in food, nutrition, dietetics, or closely related subject matter At least One year experience as a lead worker or assistant supervisor in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food in a food operation. At least Two years’ clerical and/or customer service experience Experience being around and communicating with Mental Health Adults
