CAD Specialist III

AECOM is seeking a Civil Specialist to be based anywhere AECOM has an office within the West Region, ideally in El Paso Texas. This position will be supporting a team based in the Mountain Time Zone, but will also support Central Time Zone.

Job Summary/Responsibilities
• Extensive experience with Autodesk Civil 3D through release 2022, with an emphasis on surface modeling and pipe networks.
• Dams - Grading design and surface modeling for earth fill, rockfill, conventional concrete and RCC embankments, quarries, spillways, outlet works, foundations and drains.
• Ability to take general direction and simple sketches from engineers to then develop design criteria and progress through all stages of design.
• Site development, access roads, drainage channels, jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional dams, slope stabilization, retaining walls, detention ponds, land development, surface drainage, and stream restoration.
• Prepare detailed calculation packages for earthwork quantities, reservoir storage capacity, and tailing storage.
• Ability to process a variety of data sources to build existing base surfaces from LiDAR, survey points, breaklines, DEMs, and contours.
• Detailed understanding of coordinate systems and the ability to transform data from one system to another.
• Data management of survey and client data through the project life cycle.
• Meeting with clients for project kickoff, ongoing design review, and project close out.
• Works under limited supervision.
• Performs both routine and non-routine, complex design assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.
• Field and survey experience a plus.
• BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications• Ten (10) + years of relevant experience
• Proficient with these software programs Civil3d, BIM360, ProjectWise, Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, Navisworks, ESRI GIS, Blue Marble Global Mapper or other GIS application
• Strong technical progression within civil engineering and design
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards
• Some experience with these software programs a plus: InfraWorks, Vehicle Tracking, ReCap, MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenGround, GeoPak and Revit
Additional Information
• Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range is $$60-105k
