About the role:

While supporting the Controller, the Sr. Accountant will handle general accounting responsibilities as well as be a key partner with Operations. Excellent analytical skills, knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to analyze financial statements and reports is required. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment without compromising attention to detail or accuracy.

What you will do:

  • Prepare the consolidation on a monthly basis as part of the month end close process. As part of this process, the individual will ensure that each of the trial balances for each of the four operating companies correctly interfaced into the consolidation software. In addition the senior accountant will prepare the trial balance on a monthly basis for two holdings companies.
  • Prepare various slides in the monthly reporting package which is communicated to the board of directors on a monthly basis. These slides primarily relate to historical financial information such as the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows. Other slides include Officer Expenses for the current month and 13 week cash forecast.
  • Prepare the quarterly reporting package that is required to be sent to the lenders on a quarterly basis. Included within the quarterly reporting package are a balance sheet, year to date and quarter to date income statements, year to date and quarter to date statement of cash flows, and a statement of members' equity.
  • Prepare a 13 week cash forecast which encompasses cash forecasts for each of the four operating companies and two holding companies. As part of this process will assist the controller and CFO as part of their determination to make payments and draws on the line of credit.
  • Serve as a resource to the Controller in order to back up accounting personal at each of the four operating companies. This would include reviewing balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis at each of the operating companies, understanding the cash disbursements and revenue processes at each of the operating companies. Further, serve as a backup for approving cash disbursements.
  • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements (i.e. balance sheets, income statements, etc.), or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Supports controller by assisting in drafting uniform accounting policies and procedures in order to align each of the policies at each of the operating companies. Further, assist in implementing the accounting policies at each of the operating companies.
  • Assists with quarterly and year-end financial reviews and audits and provide required financial information as necessary.
  • Recommend opportunities to improve reporting system/processes to ensure timelier and accurate results. Continuously looks for ways to automate manual processes.
Who you are:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years related experience, preferably in the medical device, pharma, or manufacturing industry.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Deacom, Syspro, IQMS a plus.
  • Experience with Software Adaptive is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to organize, present and analyze financial information.
  • Ability to focus on detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
