Responsibilities



Led by OSE and guided by a diverse summer school team of mentors, including experienced researchers trained in STEM education, summer school students will

Prepare for WDTS internships and STEM studies, Learn about PNNL’s capabilities in wind, marine, and hydropower, Explore how summer school themes relate to their culture, communities, and developing STEM identities, and Develop a professional portfolio.

Cover letters should include a brief statement of interest in the RENEW Pathway Summer School: Sequim and reference relevant college courses, as applicable.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship. Applicants must be 18 years of age by start date. Applicants must be able to work 32 hours a week. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Applicants must be early undergraduate students (freshmen or sophomores) from either 2- or 4-year colleges and universities. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all courses in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrates interest in STEM Studies. Demonstrates interest in community issues related to renewable energy and technology. Relevant coursework desired: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science. Demonstrates interest in STEM communication. Demonstrates interest in DOE WDTS internships.

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is subject to the Department of Energy Unclassified Foreign Visits & Assignments Program site, information, technologies, and equipment access requirements.
