This position is responsible for supporting financial reporting, business transformation, and financial business support for the Billings Refinery under the direction of the FP&A Finance Manager.

Responsibilities May Include:
  • Demonstrates personal commitment to health, safety, and environmental objectives.
  • Create and maintain cost reports from SAP and Analysis for Office.
  • Perform detailed routine analysis during month end close and report the results to management.
  • Assist with creating forecasts, outlooks, and the LRP.
  • Understands refinery processes and maintains forecast drivers by working closely with maintenance and operations leadership teams.
  • Perform margin analysis and present the results of the charge and yield to management.
  • Assist with Business Transformation initiatives driven by the BU and FP&A.
  • Assist with Solomon Reporting.
  • Maintains work procedures and work processes on an ongoing basis and ensures compliance with those procedures, processes, and standards.
  • Utilize SAP, AFO, FRAP, DRS, Power BI, and other systems to dive into the numbers and help identify cost savings opportunities, margin enhancements, and errors.
  • Assist with audit requests.
  • Perform Ad-Hoc analysis requests from BU and HQ.

Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Outlook)
  • Strong analytical skills with intermediate/advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Works independently without much supervision
  • Works well under pressure and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact with a high level of professionalism with all levels of the organization
  • Subject to extended work hours during closing, turnaround, and emergencies
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of all information (written & verbal) obtained on the job
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year experience in an auditing, accounting, or finance position
  • Functional expertise in accounting/finance
  • Ability to incorporate Our Energy in Action into the daily job

The Billings Refinery is located in Billings, Montana. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of Canadian heavy, high-sulfur crude oil delivered by pipeline, and domestic crude oil delivered by truck. With the startup of a new vacuum distillation unit in 2017, the refinery has 100 percent heavy crude processing capability. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and petroleum coke. Finished petroleum products are distributed by pipeline, rail car and truck. Pipelines transport most of the refined products to markets in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Washington.
