Duties

This position serves as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor within the National Park Service (NPS). The incumbent works within the following organization of the NPS: Curecanti National Recreation Area, Division of Facility Management Construction and Engineering Buildings and Utilities Branch. The primary purpose of this position is to supervise trades and labor work on a regular, recurring, and substantially full-time and continuing basis. As a supervisor, the incumbent applies experience in and knowledge of trades and labor work in order to exercise technical and administrative supervision over a variety of subordinate trades occupations.
The incumbent may also personally perform nonsupervisory trades, labor, and administrative work.
More specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for the following major duties:

Provide supervision, guidance and quality control for subordinate employees to ensure quality of work and compliance with all NPS and OHSA policies and regulations.

Participates in the preparation and implementation of short and long-term goals. Implement maintenance schedules to ensure park assets are maintained.

Perform Administrative Functions of the Buildings and Utilities Branch including HR tasks, payroll, leave administration, scheduling, tracking and documentation of time and materials etc.

Serve as a project manager. Actively participates in the development and completion of projects from project conception to closeout.
