Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in implementing the STREAMIn3 curriculum, which focuses on Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Math, and social-emotional development. As a Preschool Aide, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports the overall growth and development of our young learners.

We are currently hiring for the following locations:

Lucketts Community Center, Leesburg, VA
Key Responsibilities: Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and executing daily lessons and activities based on the STREAMIn3 curriculum. Support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of preschool children. Prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom supplies. Supervise and engage with children during classroom activities and playground time Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where each child feels safe and valued. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment. Provide individualized support and attention to children as needed. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Other essential job functions unique to the position and department assignment may be carried out.
The schedule consists of weekday hours and may include an occasional evening or weekend event as assigned to meet departmental initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or its equivalent is required, along with at least six (6) months of programmatic experience working with children. 
Must be physically able to keep up with participants and lift 50 pounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
One year of programmatic experience, including previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Child Development Association (CDA) certification. 

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

The selected applicants will be subject to a fingerprinting process, a criminal background check, and a review of their child protective services record. An annual sworn disclosure statement or affirmation must be filled out, disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges. Must obtain certification in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire. Must complete a TB test/screening that is dated within 30 days before start date and every other year thereafter.
