Location: Remote MI
Expected Duration: 5+ months.
Pay Rate: $25/hr on W2

Job Description:

The Senior Customer Service Representative/Underwriting Associate (SCSR) plays a crucial role as the primary liaison for our insurance agency clients and self-insured pool member clients. The SCSR is responsible for placing various insurance coverages such as Bonds, Crime, Windstorm, Flood, Cyber, and others in the standard insurance marketplace. Additionally, the role involves managing day-to-day customer service and basic underwriting needs for self-insured property/casualty and workers compensation pool clients.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Insurance Agency:
  • Place miscellaneous ancillary lines policies for Pools and stand-alone accounts.
  • Review and complete applications, submitting them to appropriate markets.
  • Process policy change requests and maintain/update client records.
  • Provide premium quotations, create proposals, and handle policy invoicing.
  • Manage inquiries, correspondence, and policy renewal notices.
  • Assist in preliminary claims notices and maintain records in AMS 360.
  • File Surplus Lines taxes and maintain appropriate records for tax filings.
Sedgwick Pooling:
  • Serve as primary contact for self-insured pool member clients, addressing their daily customer service needs.
  • Maintain underwriting exposures in Pool underwriting systems and issue verification of coverage certificates.
  • Coordinate contribution audits and process renewal updates for pool member clients.
  • Handle DWC notices and manage property & auto schedule exposures.
  • Assist in new member account setup and manage team email accounts.
  • Process daily and annual Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) and reconcile invoices.
General:
  • Document and input all communications and documents into AMS within specified timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum 9+ years of insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in an agency environment and with agency systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial property/casualty customer service representative experience, including workers compensation, liability, and property.
Licenses:
  • Hold a General P/C agent license or obtain within 6 months.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency with underwriting and agency systems (AMS preferred).
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute and 10-key by touch.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
